Barbieri Piccininni Aris was born in 1924 in Ravino, Province of Modena. Son of Silvestre Barbieri and Beatrice Piccinini. He arrived in San Vito in 1952. His arrival in Costa Rica was to work as an accountant for the company CICAIL (Italo-Costa Rican company for agriculture and industry), in Moravia de Chirripó. From there he went to work in the Colonia de San Vito. His parents and brother accompanied him the following year. He married María Lindozzi Pitaffi, daughter of settlers in San Vito, in Costa Rica. His children: Cristina, Enrico Annibale and Emilio Guilio, were born in San José. He was General Manager of CooproSan Vito, he was a coffee grower and rancher in partnership with his brother Rino.
