He was born in 1933 in Bertinoro, Province of Forli-Cesena. Son of Sante Caroli and Elisa Bertini. He arrived in San Vito in 1953, single and accompanying his brothers Giulio and Guido. He was an employee of the SICA and a farmer. He was repatriated along with his brothers and families in 1954
