FIORITO SARRI ALCIDE

Fiorito Sarri Alcide. He was born in 1927 in Citta della Pieve, Province of Peruggia. Son of Armando Fiorito Massotti and Maria Sarri. He arrived in Costa Rica in September 1952 together with his wife Agnesse Leorato Allegri, born in 1928 in Verona, Province of Verona, and their daughter Marcella. They arrived in San Vito in January 1953, by air to Agua Buena and then on horseback. Alcide was a coffee farmer, he was also an Industrialist by installing the first ground coffee factory in San Vito (Café Frontera) and roasting peanuts. In 1961 he bought a farm in Buenos Aires and developed a Ganadera San Pedro project. Then he had the idea, together with other Italian settlers from San Vito (Nicola Bovieri Ori, Armando Gualandri), to start the largest agricultural project in the region, which was to begin the large-scale commercial planting of pineapple, in the neighboring canton of Buenos. Aires, company called ITALPINIERA. For various reasons, they had to sell to the DEL MONTE Company. Today the company developing the project is known as PINDECO, the largest contributor to the development of the region, providing work for thousands of families. He also ventured into the import and sale of milking equipment. Finally, the whole family traveled to Italy. Both Alcide and Agnesse died in Italy.
