Cornelli Arduino pyrola. He was born on March 17, 1915, in Capriate d'Adda, Province of Bergamo. Son of Battista Pirola and Elisabetta Cornelli. He arrived in 1954, together with his wife Giovanna Rosa Rampinelli, born on January 2, 1916 in Brembate, Province of Bergamo, daughter of Bernardo Rosa and Mariette Rampinelli. And their children: Attilio, Sergio, Alessio, Elisabetta and Battista. Maria Livia was born in San Vitus. He built his own house. In San Vito he worked as a SICA employee, carpenter, beekeeper, and coffee farmer. He was a founding member of APRENA (Association for the Protection of Natural Resources) in 1960. In August 1978, Arduino donated a 351 m2 lot in the San Vito Center to the Costa Rican State, so that an education and nutrition center for the population could be built there. child population, which was later transferred to the Ministry of Health. While Giovanna (Doña Juana), was a midwife, nurse, dentist and installed the first pharmacy in San Vito. In 1963 she was a founding member of the C.A.C. (Cantonal Agricultural Center). Today the Hospital is named after JUANA PIROLA (as his wife was known) for the humanitarian work in favor of the health of the entire population (Italian, Costa Rican, Panamanian and indigenous) of San Vito and Coto Brus.
